A Kampala-born consulting firm growing Uganda's leaders one conversation at a time.
Open Meadow Deck Consulting Ltd was founded in 2014 by Dr. Amara Nkosi, a Kampala-based organisational psychologist who saw a critical gap in Uganda's professional development landscape. Despite a rapidly growing economy and a young, ambitious workforce, structured, evidence-based coaching was largely inaccessible to most Ugandan professionals.
The name 'Open Meadow Deck' was inspired by the expansive, open meadows of Uganda's countryside — spaces of possibility, growth, and perspective. Dr. Nkosi envisioned a coaching practice that offered professionals and organisations the same quality of open space: room to think clearly, grow boldly, and plan with confidence.
What began as a three-person practice operating from a shared office on Wampewo Avenue has grown into a team of 15+ experienced coaches and consultants, serving over 500 clients across Uganda — from NGO workers in Gulu to executives at Kampala's leading banks and multinationals.
Today, Open Meadow Deck is recognized as one of Uganda's leading coaching firms, proud members of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) and accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF).
To equip Uganda's professionals and organisations with the coaching tools, mindset shifts, and practical skills needed to lead with confidence, purpose, and measurable impact.
A Uganda where every professional unlocks their fullest potential, every team operates with excellence, and every organisation achieves sustainable growth.
With one of Africa's youngest and most dynamic workforces, Uganda is at an inflection point. The country's GDP has grown consistently, new businesses are launching at record pace, and international investors are increasingly looking to Uganda as a hub of East African commerce. Yet this growth creates an urgent demand for skilled, adaptive leaders — and that gap is real.
Open Meadow Deck was built to close that gap. We bring world-class coaching methodology to the Ugandan context, adapted for local realities, cultural values, and the specific challenges facing Uganda's professionals in 2026.
At Open Meadow Deck, we don't import a Western coaching model and apply it unchanged. We begin with the Ugandan professional reality — the cultural norms around authority and hierarchy, the communal values of Ubuntu, the specific pressures of leading in East Africa's business environment.
